Welcome!
June 30, 2008 on 12:59 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentWelcome to the ShopFunkHouse blog! This blog is a branch of ShopFunkHouse.com, a CafePress shop I opened two years ago! I’m your webmaster, Stephanie! We just moved the blog here from Blogger.com because it’s much better to have a direct link to the shop.
So, what will you find on the blog here? Well, updates and info on our shop, sales information, coupons, and all things referring to our Cafepress store! You’ll also find the lastest info on the topics of Twilight, Maximum Ride, Gilmore Girls, and more! Not to mention I will once in a while randomly blab on about a topic. Or babble about things that happen in my daily life. It’s all fun and games, really. Hee. At least it entertains the masses, right?
So, stick around, buckle down, and have the most hilarious ride of your life (haha, metaphors are fun!)! It’ll be as fun as a barrel of monkeys! (<-simile! *geek*)
-Your webmaster,
Stephanie

Updates!
June 19, 2008 on 3:51 pm | In new designs, twilight | No CommentsSo, I thought it was time for a few more updates!
First off, our new website, Shop Funk House, should be up and running by this weekend! Woot!
In the Twilight Universe, Stephenie Meyer has announced that rather than a traditional book tour for Breaking Dawn, she’s going to visit four cities with the band Blue October! New York on August 1st, Chicago on August 5th, Los Angeles on August 7th, and Seattle on August 12th! Check out our designs for the Breaking Dawn Concerts(which should be done this weekend!), with one for each city! Be sure to wear one to the event!
Stephenie Meyer has also announced a bunch of releases for Special Edition books:
October 2008: Twilight Collector’s Edition: This deluxe edition, housed in a slipcase, includes a ribbon bookmark, leather-like spine, cloth cover and newly-designed chapter openers. ($30.00)
October 2008: The Twilight Saga Collection: This stunning box set contains “Twilight”, “New Moon”, “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn” as well as four exclusive, limited-edition full-color prints – the perfect gift for fans of the best-selling vampire love saga. ($83.00)
November 2008: Twilight Mass Market Tie-In Edition: Available for the first time in a mass market paperback edition, featuring a striking movie tie-in cover with foil effects. ($7.99)
November 2008: Twilight Trade Paperback Tie-In Edition: Includes a collectible full-color, fold-out movie poster! ($10.99)
November 2008: Twilight: The Illustrated Movie Companion: Designed as a celebration of the film, this lavishly illustrated paperback edition is an exclusive behind-the-scenes guide featuring full-color photos of the cast, locations, and sets, as well as storyboards, interviews, details of the special effects, and much more. ($16.99)
December 2008: The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide: This must have edition is the definitive encyclopedia reference to the Twilight Saga and provides readers with everything they need to further explore the unforgettable world Stephenie Meyer created in “Twilight”, “New Moon”, “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”. With exclusive new material, character profiles, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more, this comprehensive handbook is essential for every Twilight Saga fan. ($19.99)
(I pity my poor wallet. It’s going to be very empty by 2009)
Last, but not least, check out our line of 4th of July designs for this year! We’re also going to be having a sale on all of these designs, 10% off! Make sure you have one before our Independence Day!
We have a domain!
June 9, 2008 on 10:02 pm | In new designs | No CommentsCheck it out! GO ON OVER TO http://www.shopfunkhouse.com/ and you’ll be at our Cafepress shop!
Right now, it’s only redirecting to the Cafepress shop, but it will eventually be something. Maybe. It’ll also have an RSS feed for our Cafepress and this blog! Ooh! Awesome!
So yes, we’ll update more on our new domain.
We also have some new designs! An update on those tomorrow!
T-Shirt Tutorial-FONTS
June 7, 2008 on 9:14 pm | In tutorials | No CommentsSo, everyone voted yes for the t-shirt tutorials, and I thought I’d do one! It’s my first Cafepress tutorial, and I’m not that good, so sorry if it gets confusing. XD
Now, the easiest way to start out with t-shirts is just with simple text. Working with Photoshop is best, because there are a lot of different effects you can add to the text (and your images, later on).
First off, pick some interesting slogan or just a couple words that might look cool on a t-shirt. Try to keep it under 5 words, if possible.
Kinda boring on a t-shirt.
Some color might help, but play around with caps on/off.

Still pretty boring, right? Play around with the different fonts too! You don’t want this:

It’s virtually unreadable. Pick a text that is easy to read. Maybe bold it as well to make it stand out better!

Play around with the curve of it as well!

Click this button on most photoshops:
Try and play around with the shading as well. Make sure you get these settings (or your version) to see what I have screencapped here.

Playing around with these…
Gives you this!

=
So, play around with these ’til you get something worth putting on a shirt!
Remember, our site is hosted by http://www.cafepress.com/, so open up a shop! It’s freeeeeeee!
